Information: The beautiful historic borders town of Melrose sits between the River Tweed and the Eildon Hills. Famous for its medieval abbey and its rugby club, Melrose has been on the map for a very long time, with Romans building an encampment at 'Trimontium', so named for being at the foot of the three summits of the Eildons.
