Plot Summary: The Black Douglases were a very powerful clan, so called because of their swarthy appearance. The family, which included the father, seven sons and a daughter, the Lady Margaret, resided at Blackhouse Tower. A local nobleman, Lord William, and Lady Margaret, fell in love, but the match was not to the liking of the Douglases who determined to prevent it. Tragedy occurred when the Douglas's fought Sir William and were slain one at a time. Sir William, himself injured, died in the arms of his lover.
