Location: Dryhope Tower

Information: Dryhope Tower is a ruined tower-house in the Yarrow Valley which once comprised of four storeys. Dryhope Tower was a property of the Scott family and home to Mary Scott, the Flower of Yarrow, who married Walter Scott of Harden in 1576. The tower suffered following the Scott's involvement in treachery against James VI in 1592 but was rebuilt by 1613. It had fallen from use as a Scott residence by the late 17th century. The tower passed to the Buccleuchs and is now the property of the Philiphaugh Estate Trust.
