Information: Blackhouse Tower was the home of an imposing family of Douglases. The remains of Blackhouse Tower stand in a remote spot in the Yarrow valley 3 km from Dryhope.
Blackhouse Farm, next to the remains of the tower, hired James Hogg as a shepherd from 1790 to 1800.
