Information: Ashiestiel lies on the south side of the River Tweed, about 5 miles west of Galashiels. Ashiestiel House was the home of Sir Walter Scott before he moved to Abbotsford in 1811. To the southwest Ashiestiel Hill rises to 402m (1319 feet).
